Close, pause, and the kill-switch

You are always senior to the AI: close any position with one click, pause the desk, or flatten everything instantly with the kill-switch, and know exactly what each control does.

Autonomy never means losing control. Three human controls sit above every desk, and they always win against whatever the AI is doing.

Close one position

Every position row (on the desk page and in the terminal) has a Close button. It market-closes just that position (reduce-only, so it can never accidentally flip you the other way), realizes the P&L, and the AI does not reopen the same market immediately. Use it when you disagree with one trade but the desk is otherwise fine.

Pause the desk

Pause stops the AI from proposing and opening anything new. Two important honesty notes:

• Protective stop-losses stay resting on the exchange: they survive a pause, and they even survive Hypertrade itself going down, because they live on Hyperliquid's own books.
• Active management (take-profit moves, trailing, time-based exits) pauses with the desk. A paused desk with open positions shows a banner saying exactly this, so nothing is silently unmanaged.

The kill-switch

The red Kill-switch flattens every open position on the desk immediately, at market, using a staged ladder that widens its price band until everything is closed. It is built for the moment you just want out. It asks for confirmation, then acts. What it does not do: disconnect your wallet or delete anything. The desk sits flat and paused, ready when you are.

What the engine does on its own

• Auto-pause: each mode carries a drawdown line (shown at setup and in the rules panel); crossing it locks the desk and it will not resume itself; resuming is your explicit decision.
• Daily-loss lock: past the day's loss limit the desk stands down until the next trading day.
• Protection sweep: the engine continuously verifies every position has its stop resting on the venue and re-arms any that vanish; a position is never knowingly left naked.
